What to look for

Choose a small set and use it in every episode, so listeners learn what each sound means. Transitions and bells work as markers between segments. Laughs, applause and reactions are best used sparingly, and they are short: the median clip is 1.8 seconds. Open a group's search link when you need a different length or recording.

License

All 24 tracks on this page are CC0, so no credit is required. Laughs, gasps, coughs and cheers are recordings of people. A Creative Commons license covers the recording, not a person's voice or likeness, and this catalog hides speech clips for that reason. Listen to each clip and avoid any that sounds like an identifiable person.

How to use it

Download the clip, trim any silence at the start, and lower it under the host's voice. Put the credit line for any CC BY clip in your show notes, next to the episode that uses it.
